Location
Directions to Odysseia Stables
The Odysseia Stables are located in Greece, in the middle of the Island of Crete. The location is 40km east of the city of Heraklion.
The stables is situated on a rural road, 2 km outside of the village Avdou, in the municipality of Hersonissos. Have a look at the map or look at the travel direction to the stables under here.
Airport
The closest airport to fly to is Heraklion, Kazantzakis Airport. From here you can reach us by rental car or we can organize a transfer for you.
The airport in Chania is a 3 hour drive away from us. You would need a rental car to travel from here to us. With arrival and departures times during the day, you can travel by bus from Chania to Hersonissos.

Transfers
We can organize transfers from and to the airport Heraklion.
A one way transfer cost 50 euro, with a maximum of 4 guests.
If possible you will share the transfer (and the costs) with other guests.
Transfers from Heraklion city are 55 euro.
The driver waits for you outside of the arrival hall, next to desk 29.
The driver hold a paper with your name written on.
In case of any delays or flight changes, please inform us.
Taxi
In case you organize yourself a taxi. Make sure that the taxi driver is willing to drive the last 2 km of rural dirt road. Also make sure he/she does not charge you extra for the last 2 km of dirt road from Avdou to the Hotel.
Car rental
We advice you to rent a car in case you like to see more of Crete. We are located remotely and public transport to Avdou is scarce.
A jeep, off-road car or any car higher on its wheels, makes driving on the dirt road to the hotel more easy.
For several years we happily work together with a small family business renting good cars.
You can pick up and return the car at Heraklion airport, Heraklion city or port.

Public transport
Avdou is not easy reachable by bus. Only twice a week (monday and friday) a bus drives in between Heraklion and the Lassithi Plateau. Your bus stop is Avdou.
Departure from Heraklion at 14:15 pm. and departure from Lassithi Plateau at 5:45 am.
There is also a regular bus service in between Heraklion and Hersonissos. In the summer time, every half hour.
We can organize a transfer from Hersonissos, bus stop number 18.
Also for traveling by bus from Agios Nikolaos to Hersonissos (regular bus service) we can meet at this bus station.
